I always loved to experiment with my camera. As most discoveries, this one was also made accidentally. Trying to make photos at night or in dark environments, sometimes switching the flash off gave a much nicer effect. A disadvantage was that you had to hold the camera as still as possible, or use a tripod, to get any kind of sharpness in your photos. Or was it really a disadvantage? I learned that using the available light, could sometimes be enough. Especially when what you wanted was not a sharp photo, but a photo with beautiful use of available light. A photo where you might blur the result on purpose. Where you might actually wildly swing the camera around whilst taking the photo, making onlookers give you strange looks. :)
